Emanuele Caruso
Born in Alba (Italy) on 15th of August, 1985. In September 2006 he realizes the shooting of the short film "Una scelta di vita" which was finished and than presented on February 2007. He graduates in "direction and video production" at the National Cinema Academy of Bologna on May 2007. In 2010 he shows his short film "Elogio alla Solitudine" ("Praise to loneliness") at the 58th Trento Film Festival. In 2012 he begins the shooting of his first feature film (debut film) "E fu sera e fu mattina" ("and there was evening and there was morning"), filmed in crowdfunding and crowd equity with a budget of 70.000 euros. In 2012 he films his first documentary titled "Meno 100 Chili", which takes part in many italian and foreign festivals and comes out in January 2013. In 2014 the film "E fu sera e fu mattina" releases in cinemas, it's distributed independently and filmed in crowdfunding and crowd equity. This film was in official competition at Cairo International Film Festival and won the F.I.C.E. price (Italian Federation Cinema D'Essai) as "italian independent film of year" in 2014. La Terra Buona - The Good Ground - is the second feature film produced and distributed by Obiettivo Cinema. The shooting was made in two valleys of Piedmont: Val Maira near France and Val Grande near Swizzerland in 2016. A good part of the film budget was raised with a royalty based crowdfunding campaign on the "produzioni dal basso" website. The crowdfunding raised more than 80.000 euros for La Terra Buona which is an italian crowdfunding record for a movie. The total budget of this new film was 195.000 Euros. In italian theaters from 1 March 2018 it became a national cinematic event: over 50.000 tickets in self-distribution in only 40 theaters for almost 300.000 euros at the box office.
