Emily Kranking
Emily Kranking is an actress with hemiplegic cerebral palsy (affecting on the right side of her body) and dysarthria (a speech condition).
Having done theatre in schools & locally in MD and DC, Emily's first feature film was "Ready to Ride," in which she plays one of the leading characters, Nancy. She also made her directing & screenwriting debuts in "Saylor and Selena," a short film for the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge that is available on YouTube. Moreover, Emily was a part of the fan choir in the Broadway cast recording of "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812," working with Tony-nominated lyricist Dave Mallory and Tony & Grammy-nominated singer/actor Josh Groban.
As a growing disability advocate, Emily had Public Policy and Hollywood Stigma fellowships at RespectAbility, a non-profit, non-partisan disability advocacy company in Washington, DC. She hopes to use her cerebral palsy and her acting & writing careers as tools for disability representation. Her biggest goals are to be on Broadway and to voice the first disabled Disney Princess.
