Emy Mena
Emy Mena is a Salvadoran actress who speaks Spanish, English, French and basic Italian. She was born in San Miguel, El Salvador in 1996 and now resides in La Libertad, El Salvador.
Although she was exposed to the arts from childhood, It wasn't until watching her high school's theatre teacher perform in a play that she discovered she wanted to become a professional actor. As it stands, that moment would be the epiphany that would change her life.
Despite knowing that she wanted to become an actress, Emy studied one semester of psychology, because at the time El Salvador had limited resources for students who wanted to study acting. However, three months into her career in university she auditioned professionally for the first time for a play and she booked one of the lead role. She became part of the theater group called La Zebra, with whom she would later go to Malayerba, Ecuador to receive a theater workshop in January 2017.
When finishing her semester in school, a Technical Dramatic Arts major opened in her university and she immediately switched careers. She debuted as a formal actress in July of 2015 and afterwards her career continued to grow. In July of the same year, she finished her degree and graduated later on in 2019.
She's been in a total of eight theater plays including "Romeo and Juliet" as Juliet, directed by the Salvadoran director Roberto Salomón; and "Dioniso", directed by the Argentinian, Cesar Brie. Along with that, she transitioned to film in 2016 and since then, Emy has been in three feature films all currently in post production.
In 2018 she joined the Salvadoran acting studio SAS El Salvador. She first received a Masterclass with the Canadian actor and director Mackenzie Gray and subsequently went on to meet Vanesa Tomasino, her actual mentor and acting coach in El Salvador.
One of Emy's main support system is her family; with their support she know she can achieve anything. Emy firmly believes that dreams, the law of attraction, and hard work, can make a difference in life.
