Ilana Turner
On screen, Ilana has worked on projects for HBO, SyFy Channel, SpikeTV, and starred in the BAFTA/LA-nominated film The Red Ace Cola Project. In Newness (2017), directed by Drake Doremus and written by Ben York Jones, Ilana appears in a small role opposite Nicholas Hoult, Laia Costa, and Danny Huston. On stage, she starred in a world premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in Suzan-Lori Parks' 365 Plays for 365 Days. She has starred in numerous commercials, including spots for directors Noam Murro, Tom Kuntz, and Joe Pytka.
L.A. Stage Raw Playwriting award-nominee Ilana Turner's first play, the award-winning O Réjane, premiered in 2014 to critical acclaim, and led to Ilana's first screenwriting job for an Oscar-nominated Executive Producer. Ilana is the recipient of the Max K. Lerner Fellowship for play Ollie & D, which was workshopped and read at Inkwell Theater (2019). Play Slur was developed in The Vagrancy writers program, and read in the Blossoming Festival (2019). Monologue Sugar Coat It is included in LGBT Comedic Monologues That Are Actually Funny, out now from Applause Theatre and Cinema Books. Three-time Tony nominee Kevin Chamberlin read Sugar Coat it at an advocacy & arts event covered by the Advocate, at which Ilana also performed.
Ilana is an ex-professional figure skater, trained dancer, former circus school student, and the owner of Moelle Pilates in Los Angeles. She holds a B.A. in Theater & Dance from Hampshire College.
