Kate Horn
Kate was born in California in 1989 but grew up in Alaska, moving to Oregon when they were sixteen. In their teen years, they spent most of their nights writing poetry and screenplays. They were an avid choir singer and theater enthusiast. From 2007-2012, they attended Portland State University where they majored in Film Studies with a focus in acting and screenwriting. There, they studied improvisation acting extensively and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine and Performing Arts.
They were cast in their first lead role as Jessica Huberman in the popular Youtube horror web-series Jessica Forever (2013). They were first contacted by the director, Westley Cornwall, the year prior, when he offered them a lead role in a music video, after seeing their accent reel on Youtube. Unfortunately, the band broke up before the music video could be shot. However, this turned into another opportunity as Cornwall still expressed keen interest in wanting to work with them.
Only two episodes of Jessica Forever were made, and they garnered close to 100,000 hits. Despite it's short run, it lead to more exposure in the Portland film community and more networks.
In May, 2019, Kate met Dove Bell. They met when Kate interviewed Dove to be their roommate in North Portland. A romance blossomed and they merged their passions for acting and film to start their own home production studio Burns Brightly Productions. So far, they have made several short films and a few music videos, all with LGBTQUIA+ themes. They are in pre-production for their web-series Going My Way?, which will be released on Youtube in spring of 2021.
Kate and Dove plan to get married in 2022 when the Covid-19 is hopefully resolved.
