Kate Rutter
Kate was born and educated in Leeds. She trained at Rose Bruford College in the 1970s and since then has worked extensively in film, theatre, television and radio. She also writes and directs and is a prize-winning poet. She enjoys being cast in the most challenging TV and film work such as 'Clocking Off', 'Queer as Folk' and the award-winning docu-drama, 'The Arbor'. Most recently she has worked with Jim Loach on 'Oranges and Sunshine' and Tom Shkolnik on a 100% improvised feature film, 'The Comedian,' now in post-production. She is also a talented comedy actor and toured 'Celebrating Linda Smith,' in which she performed the best stand-up work of the much-missed comedienne.
