Kim Jiang Dubaniewicz
Kim is an award-winning actress who studied theatre at Southern Oregon University in Ashland and at the University of London in England. After college she moved to New York City to study with renowned acting teacher William Esper in the two year William Esper Studio program.
Kim made her feature film debut starring as Jenny in Joy Dietrich's PBS film Tie A Yellow Ribbon and received acclaim for her performance. The film won three Best Film Awards and a Special Jury prize Award at Cinevegas and was premiered at international film festivals world wide. Another film she starred in, Christian Gossett's Only Child also won two awards.
In 2021 she won the Best Actress Indie Spirit Award (IIFF) and a Best Actress Award nomination at Soho International Film Festival for her starring role as Jean in JP Allen's feature film Girl in Golden Gate Park.
When asked why he had cast an Asian for the starring role he said "the fact she was Asian was inconsequential, she was simply the best actor for the role...Kim was cast for her merit".
