Molly McGlynn
Molly McGlynn is a writer and director who was born in Montreal and grew up in the United States. She lives in Los Angeles.
Molly graduated from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario with a BA(H) in Film Studies and has a graduate certificate from Humber College in Writing & Producing for Television. She is an alumni of the Cineplex Entertainment Film Program Writers' Lab at the Canadian Film Centre, the Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab, the Samsung TIFF Emerging Director programme and is currently one of twelve writer/directors nationally selected for TIFF Studio. In September 2017, Playback Magazine listed Molly as one of "5 to Watch" and in January 2019, she won the Stella Artois Jay Scott Prize from the Toronto Film Critics Association.
Her first feature film, Mary Goes Round, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2017 and has screened at dozens of film festivals and won multiple awards, including the Panavision Independent Cinema Award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, Best Feature Film at the Vail Film Festival and Best Narrative Feature at the Annapolis Film Festival. The film was nominated by the Directors' Guild of Canada for awards in Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Feature Film and Best Editing in a Feature Film.
