Robert Coffie
Text: Robert Coffie, is known for his work on American Muscle (2014), Crooked Arrows (2012), and Cowboys & Indians (2011). This star was born in upland California, to parents Bob and Josie. He started performing magic at age 8; and later becoming an apprentice to the famous magician Harry Blackstone JR. Robert performed professionally in the united states on stage and in Las Vegas. His Magic and talent grew bigger by capturing the hearts of people around the world, Robert decided to pursue his talent and special effects with magic by using his talent in the film industry. This began when Robert attended college where he studied cinematography and took extensive courses in acting, soon after Robert appeared on PBS Sunday art News TV series. Robert is no stranger to performing on stage or in front of the camera; he has appeared in several movies, including "Cowboys & Indians" where he played the character McHale; A scruffy cowboy in search of gold. Throughout the filming Robert earned special recondition from cast and crew in a bad windstorm saving all audio. Robert has appeared in many other TV series. Including "12 Corazones" a popular dating show On Telamundo, A Spanish Television Network; Where Robert brought magic to the stage; He Opened for the new 2012 season of "12 Corazones." Robert also appeared in many other T.V. movies, "American Muscle", "Hostage Do or Die" FBI take over(TV Series) Robert since then has been in acting in many blockbuster movies. He has walked red carpets with many well-known stars such as Quentin Tarantino, Halle Berry, kiss, Many Disney kids, as well as Rolling Stone magazine, surf magazine, expose entertainment & fashion magazine, Teen Hollywood magazine, and many many more. Truly a magical artist, perfectionist at heart. One of the finest performers in the art of magic; and with over 30 years of experience. Born in Upland California in the year 1970, to parents Bob and Josie Coffie. Roberts love for magic was first influenced by his by his father at the young age of eight. When his father performed the silk vanish and the lit cigarette Vanish in Robert's shirt. Shortly after Robert started performing his own magic for family and friends. His parents had learned by watching him perform that he had excellent finger dexterity and decided to influence his skills; by enrolling him in piano lessons. Because of his father who was a musician thought this was great for him. Robert was learning at a very high Speed, and reading sheets of music in such a short amount of time. All to which came to a end when his piano teacher moved to France; and his parents had trouble finding a piano teacher that would teach him at a very young age. Coloring and drawing was another extraordinary talent that Robert had even had a younger age. His Mother Josie did not realize until after the piano lessons had ended that Robert had a new talent at the art table. His parents then decided to hire a private art tutor. This went on a short time and ending with oil paintings. Robert had grown more to love of the art of magic rather than drawing, painting oils, and playing piano. Performing on stage was in his blood. It was really no surprise the Talent Robert had being a Grandson of the worlds greatest female impersonator Frances Blair. Magic continued through his younger years. He was now attending high school; and at the tender age of 17, and eager to broaden his skills in magic. After a brief search he came across a magic shop located in Montclair California, known as The House of Humor. He visited this shop every day after school; Spending all of his lunch money on magic props and books. The course of his studies had ranged from fire with magic, appearing and disappearing of objects using silks, ropes, rope and chain escapes, floating affects, slights with cards, slight of hand manipulations, and dove magic. Donnie Ferguson was an associate at the magic shop and was familiar with Robert's passion for the art of magic. Visits continued regularly. One day at the magic shop Robert noticed an older man demonstrating a magic trick to Donnie; known as the scotch and soda trick. Upon witnessing the demonstration Roberts approached the two men and came to the conclusion that the other magician was extremely good. His name Harry Blackstone Jr. At the time Robert had no idea that the man was a professional magician. Blackstone noticed Roberts passion for the art of magic, so begin teaching Robert simple tricks. Blackstone asks Robert if he would like to attend his magic show ? ''The Magic and Music'' His answer was of course yes. Afterwards Blackstone performed yet another trick for Robert which consists of having Robert pick a card. The selected card was replaced into the deck of cards; However the card selected card ended up in Blackstone's coat pocket. Days later came the show and it was the first live magic performance on stage Robert had ever been to. After the magic show Robert meet Blackstone's wife and kids; along with a few visits to Blackstone's house in Redlands California. Blackstone and Robert became long friends. Robert went through his teenage years performing magic for birthdays, churches, schools and country clubs. Robert moved to Yucca Valley California, and opened a magic shop that Blackstone would visit from time to time. Robert then moved to Las Vegas Nevada; Attempting to find work and with no luck. Robert started visiting every magic shop he could. He attend the magicians awards as a special guest in Las Vegas Nevada. There he met the famous magician and comedian Billy McComb. Mr. McComb took some time to go over card techniques with Robert. Shortly after Robert met Michael Moschen. at the Excalibur Hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is said that Michael Moschen. was the hand double for the crystal ball illusion for David Bowie in the Jim Henson film Labyrinth.
