Robin Byrd
Robin Byrd was born and raised in New York City. Brought up by adopted parents, Byrd has never been able to identify her birth parents. Robin took courses in marketing and advertising at Baruch College in New York City before eventually dropping out in her senior year. Byrd went on to attend the School of Visual Arts and worked as a nude model for art classes. Robin first began performing in explicit hardcore movies that include the porn hit Debbie Does Dallas (1978) in the late 1970's. After guest hosting on a leased cable access show called "Hot Legs," Byrd changed the name of the program to The Robin Byrd Show (1977) in 1977. Robin is well known for hosting this program while wearing her trademark black crochet bikini and white nail polish. Not surprisingly, the guests on this show are often strippers and both male and female porn stars. Moreover, Byrd has achieved local celebrity status in New York for her show, which in turn has enabled her to be a frequent presenter of adult entertainment, gay pride, AIDS awareness, and animal rights events. In addition, Robin was a featured performer in a long-running Off-Broadway disco stage production of "A Midsummer's Night Dream" called "The Donkey Show" in 2000, and released the dance song "Touch Me" in 2014.
