Rod Manikam
Rod Manikam was born in Penang, Malaysia. His passion with the movie industry started at a young age and his involvement in filmmaking began as a teenager. Always interested in the arts, he qualified as a graphic designer in 1990, graduating as a chef shortly after.
Rod comes from a family of musicians and teachers, his father Edward is a now retired renowned musician and teacher in Malaysia, his mother Marina Mangram is also a retired teacher. Rod's sister Adeline is a professional musician in Zurich, Switzerland. His nephew William Marty composes the music for Rod's film productions. Rod himself plays music but his main interest is film.
After traveling extensively throughout Europe and the UK, he set his sights on Australia where he decided this was the place to set down his roots and continue to pursue his passion - acting and producing. In 2013, Rod founded Rodman Pictures, firstly in Australia and then in Malaysia.
This production company has completed short films and major motion pictures and has projects underway including the latest movie Tainted Getaway. In 2016 he was granted a Datoship both in Malaysia and Indonesia for his commitment to Asian and International cinema.
In 2007 Rod uplifted and moved to Perth, Western Australia where he was later nationalized in 2011 and is now a proud Malaysian Australian.
