Roel Leijten
Roel Leijten is a Dutch filmmaker based in Breda, The Netherlands. During high school he borrowed the 8mm camera from his father to produce his very first short film and never stopped doing so. After his bachelor graduation in International Media Management, he started his professional career as a filmmaker.
Combining his passion for traveling with his work, Leijten has traveled over more than 28 countries such as Japan, Colombia and Indonesia. The personal connection with a subject is vital in creating inspiring stories. In this way he is able to produce quality films that engages audiences. In 2018 Leijten wrote and directed the short film Never Mind in Los Angeles about the MeToo-era. This film was selected at several international festivals and premiered at the 32nd edition of the Braunschweig International Film Festival.
At the age of 30, Roel is still developing his filmmaking skills that thrive him to push creative boundaries. When he isn't working on his commercial videos, Roel likes to read books, go to the cinema and work on long-term projects such as script writing and making feature films.
