Roger Nevares
Born Rogelio Armando Nevares Guajardo in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on July 5th 1968. Roger Nevares is a Mexican actor based in London, United Kingdom, who works in British, Mexican and international films as well as television. He has played drug lord 'Raoul Gomez' in the Emmy-winning British hit Sky/HBO/Cinemax TV series 'Strike Back', Russian low-life Wally in 'North v South', a Spanish Grand Prix Judge in Ron Howard's film 'Rush', Mr Brown in 'Hank Zipzer' and the scene-stealing part of a clueless Portuguese interpreter in the TV Film 'Lawless' directed by Jon Jones (Mr Selfridges); he was also directed by Jones as Ambassador Martinez in 'The Great fire'. Notably, he was 'Padre Galvan' in the 'Oscar' and 'Golden Globe' nominated Mexican film 'The Crime of Padre Amaro' alongside Gael Garcia Bernal. Recently, Roger appeared briefly in an Arctic Monkeys video clip directed by Ryan Hope. Primarily a film and television actor Roger also acts in and directs theatre; he made his debut as film director in 2015 with the bittersweet black comedy 'Crossing that Bridge' in which he also plays the supporting role of 'Dr Roche'. 'Crossing that Bridge' received several independent cinema awards. Roger trained as actor and acting teacher in Russia's oldest, most prestigious Moscow film school; being a highly respected acting teacher and acting coach, he is former Principal of a respected London acting school, KADA, Kingston University London, and has also taught in leading acting schools of the United Kingdom as well as of Latin America. Roger Nevares has a private acting studio in London for English and Russian speaking actors which is developing into a fully fledged Conservatoire acting school. Roger Nevares works regularly in commercials notably alongside Rik Mayall, Salma Hayek, Didier Drogba and Lionel Messi.
