Romy Hooper
Romy Hooper has been actively performing on stage and screen since her graduation from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand's National Drama School in 2009. She first appeared in 'Shortland St', New Zealand's iconic hospital drama as a guest feature before playing the female lead in Candlelit Pictures short 'We Talk About Loss' for the Auckland International Film Festival in 2011. She is the voice of Helena in the ever-increasingly popular New Zealand interactive online game 'Path of Exile' and has made many notable stage appearances including Alice in Patrick Marber's 'Closer' and Anna in Stephen Belber's 'Tape', a production she also directed. She devised, wrote and collaborated on multiple other original works for stage before becoming season regular on South Pacific Picture's beloved romantic comedy/drama 'Nothing Trivial', also screened in Australia. What began as a guest feature, the hilarity of Courtney won over the nation and was added to the series for the remainder of the seasons. Romy is a writer of spoken word poetry and toured her solo spoken word theatre show 'LOVE...and Other Noise' to Europe where she was international headliner at Bristol's Boomtown Festival in 2014, upon her return she co-directed and starred as the lead in short film 'RATS,' and starred in yet to be released short 'Video Heaven.'
