Sally Jackson
Sally Jackson was born and raised in West Texas. She attended four colleges: The University of Kansas, Southwest Texas State, The University of Texas and Trinity University. She majored in Art and English, respectively. Miss Jackson moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico after a fourth year in college, and began a career in theater as a stage manager. It was here that she met with Godfrey Reggio of 'The Institute For Regional Education' and became a member of the crew on the highly regarded documentary film, Koyannisquattsi. Her love for filmaking was sparked by this experience. As major motion pictures cycled heavily into the state of New Mexico, Miss Jackson worked productions as 'Extras Casting Director' for many legendary Directors (see filmography). She recognized the extraordinary talent pool in the state and began lobbying LA casting directors to view tapes of local actors for roles formerly cast out of the Los Angeles area. After a few years of being instrumental in casting SAG roles on big budget films, on many major motion pictures, she requested a new 'credit' as 'Location Casting Director' and thereby coined the same credit phrase. Between casting films, Miss Jackson studied acting with legendary coach, Lawrence Parke, owner/writer of 'Acting World Books' and fondly remembered in Los Angeles as 'The StarMaker'. Currently Miss Jackson is on hold as 'Location Casting Director' for Cruise/Wagner, coaches the young, Hollywood elite for major films and pilot leads, reads scripts for one of the most respected producers in the business and performs regularly as a stand-up comedienne at 'The Improv', 'The Comedy Store', 'The Ha Ha' and 'The Acme Theater'. Her acting resume can be found in 'The Players Guide'. She has only one thing to say about all of this, "Onward through the fog".
