Suzanne Cyr
Raised in small town St. Thomas Ontario, Suzanne Cyr grew up with a love of theatre and art. At 18 years old, originally headed to art school in Switzerland, she decided instead to move to Toronto and pursue an opportunity to model, becoming a successful Canadian model. Following the advice of casting directors, Suzanne studied acting with such notable teachers as Carol Rosenfeld, HB Studios, Lewis Baumander, LB Acting Studio, Sandra Balcovske, Second City and David Smukler. Her first lead role as Victoria Wholeness in the short film Battle of the Bulge (Global) helped the film garner more than 50 awards at international film festivals including a gold medal at the New York Film and Video Festival, a Certificate of Merit at the Chicago International Film Festival and in Canada the Genie for Best Short Film. She has created and played a diverse range of characters in award winning television and film productions; Alfred Hitchcock Presents, (CBS, NBC), Strange Justice, (Showtime, Paramount), Get a Clue, (Disney), When Love is Not Enough, The Lois Wilson Story, (CBS), Suits, (USA Network), Cake, (Lionsgate), The Great Defender, (Warner Bros), and Covert Affairs, (USA Network) to name a few and has played opposite such notable actors as Alan Arkin, EG Marshall, Winona Ryder, Peter Strauss, Armande Assante and Megan Follows. As a producer her 30 minute short film Silent Song aired on the Alliance Atlantis group of television networks. Most recently she starred in comedic lead roles in Christmas Wedding Runaway, (Superchannel) and The Wedding Planners, (Rogers). Suzanne can be seen in the dramatic supporting lead role of Headmaster in the feature film Night Raiders; writer, director Danis Goulet, executive producer Taika Waititi. Night Raiders premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, 2021, was a gala film at TIFF 2021 and is the winner of 5 Canadian Screen Awards.
