Taka Valentine
Taka Valentine was born on September 4, 1976 in Houston, Texas to Mathilda (Lee) Valentine and (adopted by) William Valentine. She is of Creole, Black, Cherokee ancestry and best known for Moesha (1996), Grindin (2007) and Conway Curve (2015).
Taka first told her parents at age five while preparing for a Martin Luther King school performance that she had a dream to become an actress. Her senior year in high school she enter an international talent search held in Los Angeles called IMTA and won best comedy and caught the attention of top manager and producers.
Two weeks after graduating from high school at the age of 17 she moved to Los Angeles to work with Topper Carew producer of the hit show Martin staring Martin Lawrence. She continued her journey of studying her craft and working in Los Angeles for 11 years before returning to her home town to help care for her grandmother and has continued to study and work there.
She believes her talents are gifts from God and wants to honor God by using her talents for His purpose.
