Tamara Almeida
Tamara Almeida is a bilingual actor and producer born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She is a first generation Canadian of Chilean and Ecuadorian descent. Tamara found her passion for performing at a very young age and would go on to participate in various school productions, with Annie being her first role at the age of 10.
Once out of school, she began working in Sales and Business Development, finding great success at a Fortune 100 company. Though excelling in that career, she'd always wondered about going back to the arts, quickly realizing her passion was in acting. Without hesitation, she decided to switch careers and began training extensively.
Since then, Tamara quickly amassed a significant body of work in several film and television productions including Degrassi: Next Class (CTV), Odd Squad (TVOKids/PBSKids), Good Witch (Hallmark), Heroes Reborn (NBC), and Warehouse 13 (SYFY). She has also produced and co-produced several short films that have gone on to be seen at festivals worldwide.
Her first big break came when she was cast as Anna in the Hallmark TV movie Entertaining Christmas starring alongside Jodie Sweetin and Brendan Fehr.
Coming up next, Tamara is set to star in her biggest role yet as Young Grandma Tess in the highly anticipated reboot of the beloved '90s children's television series Ghostwriter, set to make its premiere on November 1st, 2019 on Apple TV+. Tamara can also be seen as Carmen in the new short film Date Night premiering at the 2019 Toronto International Shorts Film Festival and continues to lend her voice to Joe Murray's latest animated series Let's Go Luna as Maria Mariposa, alongside Judy Greer and Saara Chaudry.
Outside of acting, Tamara's other passions lie in the world of tech, travel, and food. She always keeps active through rock climbing, boxing, and other outdoor activities.
Understanding the importance of philanthropy, Tamara supports causes close to her heart which include mental health initiatives, and volunteering with both a mindfulness group, and the organization Feed Your Hood which focuses on feeding those struggling with food insecurity.
