Warona Setshwaelo
Warona Setshwaelo was born in Gaborone Botswana to wonderful parents who always taught her she could do whatever she wanted. their passion for development and activism inspired Warona at at a young age to be brave in her life choices and live outside the box. She was raised in Ehtiopia, Swaziland, South Afrika and Botswana before she moved to the U.S.A for theatre school.
After 4 years in the Virginia Tech theatre department, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Arts and has been trying to live the dream every since. After a short tour with the National Players out of Olney Maryland, she moved back to Botswana where she participated in the first international Big Brother series: Big Brother Africa. After BBA, she was ready to pursue her acting career full-time and decided to move.
She moved to Montréal in 2007 to pursue her career. over a decade later, she is proud to call the city home, not just to her but to her 6 year old daughter. After working in several theatres in the city, Warona has also garnered a healthy Film/TV resumé and has recently worked on a few video games as well.
Warona is happily partnered for life with Mike Payette, Artistic Director of Geordie Productions. They reside in Montréal with her daughter Khaya.
