Wei-Ning Hsu
Tiffany Ann Hsu (her birth name in Mandarin is Wei-Ning Hsu, but she loves people call her Ann because that's what her beloved grandfather calls her) was born on 7th August 1984 in Taipei City, Taiwan. She is an Italian-Taiwanese model and actress.
Hsu's father is an Italian-American and her mother is Taiwanese. When she was 2 years old, Hsu's father left her mother, and Hsu was raised by her mother along with her grandfather, grandmother, and her mother's other family members. Hsu graduated from Taipei Hwa Kang Arts School and Chinese Cultural University with a major in Drama Acting. She was first noticed by Catwalk Agency when she participated in a talent casting for MTV Taiwan and was then signed up to be a model in 2003.
In 2004, Hsu appeared as the lead actress in her first TV series, Jia You Fei Fei. She also sang the theme song, "Sweet and Hot Sister." In 2005, she starred in the series E zuo ju zhi wen (2005) as the second female lead. Hsu appeared in her first movie, Song shu zi sha shi jian (2006), in 2006, and she starred in the idol drama Ai jiu zhai yi qi (2009) as well as Autumn's Concerto (2009) three years later. In 2013, she had another lead actress role in the TV romance-drama series Wo zu le yi ge qing ren (2012) as a marriage-phobic woman who tests her boyfriend with a femme fatale. The following year, in her first movie lead actress role, she starred in Design 7 Love (2014). Hsu's depiction of a woman caught in a complicated situation who must find a way out earned her a Golden Horse Award nomination as Best New Performer.
