Wei-Yi Lin
Wei-Yi Lin was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. Fluent and trained(in acting) in Chinese and English. Because of the Drama and Theatre Department in National Taiwan University, Wei-Yi had her first encounter with drama, theatre and acting. Worked in professional theatre field after graduation, Wei-Yi did gain some recognition among her peers but also made her realize her lack of training-the ambition she envisioned was far ahead of her craft and skill. Hence, under her mentor's guidance, Wei-Yi decided to go to The States, pursuing her master degree in the acting field. Granted her MFA from Columbia University, Wei-Yi stayed in New York City and continuing her work in both Theatre and on Screen. Three years after graduation, she gained her union status and had the privilege working with the best artists in the world. After being invited to Sundance Directors Lab as Yang Meng (2015), her world has been open to a new chapter: nominated for Best Actress in a Theatre Festival in Downtown NYC (2015); WON Best Acting in Short Films in Asian Film Festival in Dallas (2015); Won best acting in LA Movie Awards (2015). worked with Catherine Hardwicke on Lady Gaga PSA (Oscar nominated), Enid Zenteils, and Paola Mendoza. Recently her short( MA- Warner Bros.) is selected in Tribeca Film Festival 2017, and her first feature film in Taiwan 'The Last Painting' was competing in Rotterdam International Film Festival 2017(as supporting lead). Wei-Yi is based in NYC, LA, and Taiwan. She has a 10 year bull terrier.
