Winter Andrews
Winter Andrews is a Los Angeles-based actor, singer/songwriter, musician, and producer from Tucson, Arizona.
Building a reputation for his rare combination of intelligence, sensitivity, humor, charm, and exceptional musical talent, he has starred in films, theatre, and performed at prestigious venues across Los Angeles to critical acclaim - playing a variety of young romantics, rebels, eccentric oddballs, violent addicts, and more. Most recently he starred in The Mystery of Her, playing a sensitive outcast. He was also hired to write/perform the film's title track, which he did with his music producer/collaborator, Grammy winning producer Austen Jux-Chandler (Adele's "25".) His work was also seen in The Slabs, playing a homeless, meth-addicted rebel in love, opposite Bianca Comparato (series lead of Netflix's "The 3%.")
In Fall of 2018 he made his LA theatre debut by co-producing and starring in a bold Los Angeles production of Spring Awakening the musical, in which all proceeds benefited Everytown for Gun Safety. The show raised over $10,000 for the cause, sold out its limited run, received consistent rave reviews for both his performance and the show, and won the "2018 Robby Award" for "Best Musical" in Los Angeles (LA's oldest theatre awards, his production beat out Dear Evan Hansen, Broadway-bound Ain't Too Proud, and over 130 others.) Winter was also nominated for Best Leading Actor in A Musical for his portrayal of Melchior, the youngest actor in his category by over a decade.
Reviews hailed his performance as, "Effortlessly charming... raw, and honest" - BroadwayWorld. "Pensive, radical, and headstrong... his fresh voice pop effortlessly carries the main numbers." - TheShowReport. "Winter's open-faced boy-next-door heartthrob of a Melchior not only sings splendidly, but shows off legit acting chops in powerful eleventh hour scenes." - StageScene LA
He was one of five students awarded a talent scholarship to attend Elon University's prestigious BFA Music Theatre program out of more than 1,200 who auditioned (Its Music Theatre program boasts many notable alumni in TV/Film and Broadway including 2020 Tony nominee Daniel J. Watts, Grant Gustin - The Flash, Chris Wood - Supergirl, Taylor Trensch, and more.)
Winter was born in Hawaii and grew up with a blind older sister.
