Yode Akinwande
Yode Akinwande was born as Akinyode Jamil Akinwande, on February 11, 1995, in Peckham, London, to Helen and Dr Bode Akinwande. He uses the name Yode, as it is the only name he is called by at home and outside.
He is a British citizen, with Nigerian origin, with 2 older brothers, 1 older sister and one younger brother. He has lived in Peckham, before his family put down roots in Welling, Kent, at the age of 14. Yode was inspired to become an actor at a young age after watching his role model, Will Smith, in Fresh Prince of Bel-air, which made him study acting in secondary school.
After graduating from The University of Greenwich, Yode started freelance acting, to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. Yode began acting in student films, short films, music videos and as an extra in feature films to be able to build his portfolio. He had a supporting role in the short film, 'What are friends for' as well as a gangster in 'True bonds' and a soldier for 'Depths of field'. he has also played a character in '12 killers' for a TV pilot.
Yode is a kind-hearted, humorous man who values the people in his life, because losing his dad in 2018 inspired him to take acting seriously, so he can make a name for himself and follow his dad's motto: 'the shortest way to the top is education'. In his spare time, Yode enjoys watching films, playing games, drawing, and writing fan fiction.
