Yves Finkel
Yves Finkel is an Israeli actor and former fashion model. He was born in Khabarovsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, to Malakhov Valentina, violist of the Far East Symphony Orchestra, and Finkel Lev, director of the Khabarovsk Musical College. His first stage experience came at six when he studied music as a violinist at numerous community and school concerts. But it wasn't until his father took him to see a local theater play that he discovered his attraction to the stage and the desire to become an actor.
His first acting experience began with appearances in numerous community, and state school theater plays. However, in 1991, due to the ongoing fall of the Soviet Union, to make a better life, he and his family decided to immigrate to Israel, where he got his start as a model. Although acting was always in the back of his head, the timing wasn't right, so he had to put his dream on hold. And It wasn't until years later, during one of his modeling cycles in China, when he realized there was a growing market for foreign actors in China, that he started chasing his dream again.
In 2016, with numerous advertising campaigns, print work, and TV commercials in his modeling portfolio, he started getting calls for Chinese television and film projects. One thing led to the other, and soon he landed several background-acting gigs. It didn't take long for the big opportunity to knock, and In 2017 he made his first speaking role appearance playing gaming company CEO "David" in China's web series Beyond Light Years, followed by a small part in Ba Bai (2020) directed by Hu Guan, a pirate role in Candle in the Tomb: The Lost Caverns (2020) the first interactive web-series directed by Zhenxiang Fei, a mercenary in Advancing of ZQ (2023) directed by Yang Song, a villain role as "Andy" in Hummingbird Action directed by Xie Yunpeng, a Jew in Biochemical Revelation 731 directed by Zhao Linshan, a supporting role as "Eugene" in Ghost Sniper directed by Jiang Jingzhong and Wang Wenbo, and a villain role as "Joseph" in Zombie Temple directed by Tao Yuan. From that point on, he considered himself to be a serious actor.
In 2022 as casting directors began to recognize him, he was given an opportunity to play the part of "Smith", the CEO of a high-tech company, in a micro-movie Chip War produced by China's High Court. Most recently, he completed the role of "Hassan", one of the protagonists in the new feature film Home Coming, directed by Rao Xiaozhi, which is due to be shown on big screens in China in October 2022.
