Ari was born and raised in Simpsonville, SC, and she grew up with 1 older sister, Dr. Talisha Ratliff, pharmD. She was raised by her dad, Alvin Payne, an Army veteran who proudly served his country for 20 years, and her mom, Sharon Payne, who went to work after her children went to school but later became a stay-at-home Nana to take care of her grandchildren once they were born. Ari has a bachelors degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Political Science from Lander University and a Masters degree from Clemson University in Middle Level English. Now, she juggles life between being a 24/7 wife and mom and all around entertainer from comedy, to TV appearances, to event hosting, and public speaking engagements. Ari Rufino
Ari Rufino was born in Amadiya, Iraq. Ethnically, he is a Kurd and speaks fluent Kurdish to this day. In 1975, after a failed Kurdish uprising against the Iraqi Government, Ari and his family fled the war-torn country and lived in Iran for one year as refugees. Not seeing a future there, his parents decided to immigrate to Canada. Ari grew up in Windsor, Ontario and attended high school at the Walkerville Collegiate Institute. The school offered a creative arts program, where he was first exposed to acting. After graduating, Ari continued his education at the University of Windsor. He worked in casinos as a dealer and pit supervisor. He resigned from casinos in 2008, moved to the U.S. and started a career in film and theater.
