Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Persian-American screenwriter, actor, editor and director Armin Nasseri has been acting since the age of 14 and has worked on both studio and several independent projects beginning in Wilmington, North Carolina. In his early 20's, Armin moved to Southern California and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and continued his education at both L.A. City College and West L.A. College, where he studied film production and has now over 30 film production credits to his name. As an artist, Armin loves anything that is edgy and pushes boundaries. His creative endeavor, "Jump" screened at the Intercollegiate Film Festival in Los Angeles. He followed up his success with Seeking Valentina, a psychological thriller that has already received international attention due to its gender and ethnically balanced casting, compelling themes and storytelling structure. Seeking Valentina has screened all over the world and has received several nominations and awards including an Honorable Mention by the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards as well as receiving a Special Festival Mention from Delhi Shorts International Film Festival and a Special Mention Jury award at Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival. Seeking Valentina received 14 nominations and won 5 awards at FANtastic Horror Film Festival including Best Director. Armin has continued his success with Seeking Valentina as he won Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor at Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival along with winning a Remi Award at WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, Best Horror Film at Silicon Beach Film Festival and 2 nominations including Best L.A. Filmmaker at Glendale International Film Festival. Seeking Valentina has also received the Indie Spirit Award at Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema.

Born May 13, 1944 in Washington, D.C., United States as Armistead Jones Maupin, Jr., he is an American writer, best known for the "Tales of the City" novels. His parents were Armistead Jones Maupin, co-founder of the Maupin, Taylor & Ellis law firm, and Diana Jane (nee Barton). He graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 1962 and went on to study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He worked for Channel 5 and received a patriotic award that the station's manager, future U.S. Senator Jesse Helms nominated him to. Maupin later renounced Helms' conservative beliefs. He served several tours of duty in the United States Navy. He wrote for a number of newspapers and in 1971 became a member of the San Francisco bureau of the Associated Press. In 1974 he came out as gay, although he claims he had known he was homosexual since childhood. In 1976 he published "Tales of the City", the first novel in a series of nine books. He's been married to website producer and photographer Christopher Turner since 2007.
