Atsuko Hirayanagi was born on 2-8-2015 in Nagano (Japan) and was raised in Chiba (Japan). She later studied fine arts at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, where she eventually passed an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Film Production. A resident of San Francisco, she is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. To this day, her (still young) career amounts to four shorts and a feature film. Her fourth short entitled "Oh Lucy!" earned her several prizes. She later developed it into a full-length film of the same title. "Oh Lucy!" is an offbeat comedy taking place successively in Tokyo and in Calfornia which ironically challenges the Americanization of Japan.
