Actor Eric Darnell Redding is one of four children born to his parents Virgil and Lucille Redding. His father was active military, the family traveled frequently throughout the United States and Europe. His first acting debut came at the age of nine, while in Europe his mother entered him and his sister in a local talent show, where they performed the skit "There's a Hole in the Bucket" his mother dressed him and his sister in old farm clothes. His family soon returned to the United States where they settled in Colorado. Artistic from an early age, Eric's parents began to encourage him to draw after recognizing that he was truly talented and creative, which may have come from his mother who is also a local painter and artist in Colorado Springs. Involved in all aspects of art during his high school years including painting a wall mural for the drama department and his own "one-man" art show featured in the regional newspaper. Later that year the 6'2" high school junior was asked to model sportswear for the Olympic Training Center catalog in Colorado Springs, honored and also excited to be part of the photo shoot, he realized during the shoot that he enjoyed being in front of the camera as a modeling and thus began the spark that would eventually lead him down the road to acting, but first, his love for art would steer him towards a degree in Graphic Design, while working part time at the movie theater and on occasion being booked as a local runway model he received his degree in art and design, it was then time for him to revisit his interest in acting. After arriving in California, Eric quickly began to immerse himself in the acting culture while holding down a full time job as a graphic designer. His first major mile stone was receiving his Taft Hartley into the Screen Actors Guild, now a member of S.A.G., he began to navigate his way through Hollywood landing film and acting roles all the while attending acting workshops and classes. Eric is the award winning director and Grand Prize Winner of the 2014 Chiller's Killer Shorts competition, a national contest in keeping with NBC Universal and Chiller's tradition of fostering up-and-coming creative directing talent in the genre of horror movie-making, Eric Darnell Redding's award winning film The Devil's Keepsake made it's on-air debut on the Chiller Television Network, following the premiere of the original anthology film, Chilling Visions: 5 States of Fear, which aired on July 11, 2014. The actor turned director was chosen as one of the 13 finalist by NBC Universal and Chiller Executives as a finalist when they began their competitive search for the next horror film maven, ultimately his film The Devil's Keepsake became the 2014 Grand Prize Winner of NBC Universal and Chiller's newly launched competition Chiller's Killer Shorts, aimed at aspiring directors and horror filmmaking talent across the United States.
