He has frequently focused on issues of belief and evidence in his work. Weinstein earned degrees in both filmmaking (BFA, NYU Tisch School of the Arts) and genetics (MA, MPhil, PhD, Columbia University.) In addition to directing and producing his own work, he edits and executive produces for other filmmakers.
