Kevin Kline was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Margaret and Robert Joseph Kline, who owned several stores. His father was of German Jewish descent and his mother was of Irish ancestry. After attending Indiana University in Bloomington, Kline studied at the Juilliard School in New York. In 1972, Kline joined the Acting Company in New York which was run by John Houseman. With this company, Kline performed Shakespeare across the country. On the stage, Kline has won two Tony Awards for his work in the musicals "On the Twentieth Century" (1978) and "The Pirates of Penzance" (1981). After working on the Television soap Search for Tomorrow (1951), Kline went to Hollywood where his first film was Sophie's Choice (1982). He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance. His work in the ensemble cast of The Big Chill (1983) would again be highly successful, so that when Lawrence Kasdan wrote Silverado (1985), Kline would again be part of the cast. With his role as Otto "Don't call me Stupid!" West in the film A Fish Called Wanda (1988), Kline would win the Oscar for Supporting Actor. Kline could play classic roles such as Hamlet in Great Performances: Hamlet (1990); or a swashbuckling actor like Douglas Fairbanks in Chaplin (1992); or a comedic role in Soapdish (1991). In all the films that he has worked in, it is hard to find a performance that is not well done. In 1989, Kline married actress Phoebe Cates.

Other titles include Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous With Destiny, A City Upon a Hill, and Broken Promises: The United Nations at 60. He has also written, produced and directed programs for Discovery, A&E, History, TLC, ABC, Lifetime, TNN, Tribune, CBS and Paramount Television and has received multiple regional Emmy nominations. Most recently Knoblock wrote and directed the dramatic feature film Palau, a biopic on spiritual leader Luis Palau. Shot in Argentina, Palau will be released in 1400 theaters in North and South America in April, 2019.
Taiwanese filmmaker Kevin KO came to prominence for a series of short films he made in college, including horror THE PRINT that screened at festivals in Japan and South Korea. He made his directorial debut with 2009 slasher-horror INVITATION ONLY , which pushed the boundaries of good taste in Taiwan cinema with its fast cars, dismemberment and a Japanese adult video actress. INVITATION ONLY competed in PiFan and Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. Kevin KO produced/edited/photography a short film MY BUDDIES got him a 'best editor' award in 2011 Taipei film festival. His anarchic parody THE BENDOVER , commissioned by LeTV produced by Leste Chen, competed at the Taipei Film Festival in 2013 as well. He has also been directing TV commercials for some of Taiwan's top ranked online-game companies, which demonstrate KO's skill in characters' emotion and VFX. In 2018 he brought his first Mainland Chinese feature, romantic comedy DUDE'S MANUAL to New York Asian Film Festival, and served as a jury. An other feature film A-CHOO directed by Kevin , written by famous Taiwanese writer Gidden KO , is released at 2020 in Taiwan. In 2022, Kevin KO directed/produced his masterpiece INCANTATION and become well-known in Taiwan. the film also gained huge success in box office.

Kevin grew up outside of Atlanta, GA in a town with no traffic light, but both his parents hail from the NYC area. After getting a BS in Chemistry and Buddhism from The University of Virginia, Kevin moved to Bloomington, IN to earn a Ph.D. in Chemistry as well as certification as a master firefighter and EMT. While in Indiana, Kevin began his acting in earnest, traveling to Chicago weekly and NYC several times per year for classes and seminars. Kevin moved to NYC in 1998 to act full time. Kevin has been everything from a movie theater manager to a camp counselor and rifle instructor to a NYC taxi driver and helicopter pilot in real life, and just as wide a variety on screen. He has been seen in more than three dozen films ant TV shows, and has appeared in stand-up comedy clubs around NYC, in addition to touring the country putting on a one-man, multiple-puppet show. Possessing an unusually broad facility with character voice work, you may also hear one of his many voices in a variety of television and radio commercials and cartoons.

In 2007 he started his studies of Fine Art at the University of Arts, Berlin in the class of the Japanese artist Leiko Ikemura. He graduated as Master Student in 2012. His work often deals with paranormal and metaphysical elements.
