She got into the prestigious Warner Brother's Sitcom Writer's Workshop in 1996. Although not hired, she decided producing was for her. She soon worked her way up as un-paid Interns in almost every department. She met and married her 1st husband Fred Olen Ray, one of the most prolific film directors in the world, and soon married in 1997. Although they divorced in 2017, they remain close friends and have two wonderful children together. In 2019, Kim re-married to Actor and former Broadway dancer, Steven Scionti - whom she was actually introduced to by her former husband.
