In addition to his extensive film and television work, Kip has been called by critics "one of the theater's most important actors". Starring roles in Premieres include "Dave Vaughn" in "Catskill Sonata" directed by Paul Mazursky, Harry Houdini in "Harry And Arthur" directed by William Shatner, Ben Hecht in "Moonlight And Magnolias", "Ralph Edwards" in "Gretty Goodtime", "Josh Green" in "2 Across", "Adam Penzius" in Michael Weller's "What The Night Is For", and "Paul Wolfowitz" in the Mark Taper Forum's production of "Stuff Happens" for which he received an Ovation Nomination. His one-man shows "Mister Moody.. 82 minutes with Christ" and "Men Women And Assassins" have also enjoyed much critical success along with their musical recordings. Months after graduating college, Kip settled in Chicago and his initial audition earned him his first professional break co-starring in "Irma La Douce". Starring roles followed in productions of "Funny Girl", "Light Up The Sky", "Little Mary Sunshine", "Send Me No Flowers" and "Pal Joey" as he worked non-stop for a year in the windy city. He then settled in New York where he was instantly cast in an improv review called "Weigh-In Weigh-Out". Soon, he was picked out of the show by several William Morris agents (one was Judy Abbott, the daughter of legendary director and writer George Abbott) and his busy career began in earnest. New York Theater projects followed for several years including the premier of Mark Medoff's "The Wager" directed by Anthony Perkins followed by "Barefoot In The Park", the Public Theater's production of "Lotta", and culminating with the hit "Company". The hit musical "Purlie" with Robert Guillaume brought him to Los Angeles where he soon became recognizable to the prime-time TV world. He has since starred as a regular on Loves Me, Loves Me Not (1977), Trapper John, M.D. (1979), Foot in the Door (1983), Dorothy (1979), "Closeup News", Studio 5-B (1989), Nurses (1991) and has recurred on Doctor Doctor (1989) and Relativity (1996). The son of a traveling salesman dad, Kip has lived in Boston, Rochester, Cleveland, Chicago, and, now, bi-coastalizes between New York City and the Santa Monica Mountains. Gilman's dramatic, comedic and musical performances in television, film and stage are a testament to his incredible versatility and what makes him one of the most fascinating and talented actors in the business.

Kip Niven
Kip Niven was raised in Prairie Village, Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City in affluent Johnson County), and graduated in 1963 from Shawnee Mission East High School. After spending a year at Baylor University, he changed his mind and entered the theater program at The University of Kansas, where he performed in dozens of plays. Niven had an impressive resume that includes films such as Magnum Force (1973), Earthquake (1974) and Midway (1976). He had performed on countless television shows, including memorable parts on The Waltons (1972), Law & Order (1990) and Walker, Texas Ranger (1993). He had roles on Broadway, in regional theater and episodic radio shows. He was probably best known for his three-year stint as Steve Marsh on the TV sitcom Alice (1976). Niven and the star of that series, actress Linda Lavin), married in 1982. The marriage was turbulent and they subsequently divorced. Kip was first married to Susan and had two children Jim and Kate. She tragically died in a car accident in 1981. He and his 3rd wife Beth lived in Kansas and had a daughter Maggie, who was born in 1994. He also had two grandsons. In 1995 Kip returned to the Kansas City area where he grew up. He continued to work in local theater and on a comedy radio show.

Kip Pardue was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 23, 1975. He grew up playing football and baseball and graduated from Dunwoody High School, located in Atlanta, Georgia in 1994. The next year he was recruited to play football by Yale University. He graduated in 1998 with a degree in Economics. Kip headed west afterwards and enjoyed a successful career as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch and Polo. Soon after he next turned to acting and landed TV roles on 7th Heaven (1996) and was cast as Josh Ford on the WB Hit Popular (1999) before the role was later re-cast. After making his film debut in the racy independent flick But I'm a Cheerleader (1999) and later Whatever It Takes (2000), Kip got his big break with his role in Remember the Titans (2000) with Denzel Washington. He then starred as Sylvester Stallone's Indy racing protégé in Driven (2001). Soon afterwards, Kip was named by Armani Exchange as one of the "Top 10 Upcoming Actors" and Variety claimed he was one of the "10 to Watch" for this year. With several new movies due out later, including The Rules of Attraction (2002), based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel, you can be sure his face won't be disappearing from the screen.
