Kate Seyha Lim was born in Cambodia as Seyha Lim Seang. After spending years in a refugee camp, Kate and her family made their way to the United States, where she grew up in Long Beach, California. Kate caught the acting bug when she landed a role as Francie in a middle school production of "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn." After earning a biology degree from UC Santa Cruz, she decided to pursue acting and enrolled in a two-year Meisner program in Santa Monica as well as various acting schools around Los Angeles.
