Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito
Paloma is a multi-talent: she writes, directs and acts. She graduated in 2004 from the theatre school Acting International in Paris. Afterwards, she graduated from the Dutch Film- and Television Academy in directing. Besides directing the film Blijf bij me weg, she is also responsible for the screenplay The film is awarded with: Grand prix du jury films d' ecoles Europeens at Premiers Plans Festival in France and best international short in Uruguay. The film was nominated in 2010 for the EFA European Film Awards. In 2011 she wrote and directed the film Entre Nosotros which won the Zilveren Fipa at the International Film Festival in Biarritz and was nominated for the debuts prize in Utrecht and for the Zilveren Krulstaart 2011/2012. In 2016 her film Out of Love premiered at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This film was nominated best screenplay at the Dutch Film Festival 2016. She can be seen in several television series' and movies such as Loft, Bernhard schavuit van Oranje, Amsterdam en vele anderen, Quiara ah and My foolish heart.

Her parents, an English mother and Mexican father were hippie musicians and, when Paloma was a baby they moved to live in Mexico City, where she stayed until she was nine and the parents separated. She returned to England with her mother, began acting in school plays and read English and Performing Arts at Bristol University. Since then she has appeared on the London stage and in several popular television dramas. She has also directed two short films.
