Magnus and Eunice Williamson, Robert was born in The Manse on Eday, in Orkney but grew up (for the 1st time!) in Shetland. Island life was extremely agreeable and particularly free, especially the air, which sometimes arrived at 100 miles an hour! Music was Robert's first foray into performance learning piano, fiddle and acoustic guitar before settling for electric bass, playing rock n roll as a teenager - he still plays Bass and Guitar. Directing and work assisting in post production provides a sound filmmaking knowledge base to bring to the front of the lens affording collaborators an intelligent, efficient and consummate performance every time. 3 of Robert's screen works have attracted BAFTA award nominations with 1 winner.

Wisdom has also appeared in the independent feature, Coastlines, directed by Victor Nunez. He also spent five months doing improvisation work to shape his character for director Michael Radford's Dancing at the Blue Iguana co-starring Daryl Hannah and Jennifer Tilly. Wisdom's success can also be seen on the television, including the critically acclaimed series Cracker, opposite Robert Pastorelli. His other credits include If These Walls Could Talk with Demi Moore and Sahara. His guest appearances include ER, NYPD Blue, Dharma and Greg, Judging Amy, and Boomtown. Wisdom was raised in Washington, D.C., the middle of three children of Jamaican parents. He attended St. Alban's School in D.C., then graduated from Columbia University in New York with a degree in history and economics. Wisdom's passion is world music and he plays several percussion instruments, including Cuban drums, and has traveled the world following his passion.
Robert Wise
Robert Earl Wise was born on September 10, 1914 in Winchester, Indiana, the youngest of three sons of Olive R. (Longenecker) and Earl Waldo Wise, a meat packer. His parents were both of Pennsylvania Dutch (German) descent. At age nineteen, the avid moviegoer came into the film business through an odd job at RKO Radio Pictures. A head sound effects editor at the studio recognized Wise's talent, and made Wise his protégé. Around 1941, Orson Welles was in need of an editor for Citizen Kane (1941), and Wise did a splendid job. Welles really liked his work and ideas. Wise started as a director with some B-movies, and his career went on quickly, and he made many classic movies. His last theatrical film, Rooftops (1989), proved that he was a filmmaker still in full command of his craft in his 80s. The carefully composed images, tight editing, and unflagging pace make one wish that Wise had not stayed away from the camera for very long. Robert Wise died of heart failure on September, 14, 2005, just four days after his 91st birthday.
