Worked in two films, both by Corner Bar Productions. Worked as a Production Assistant on the 2008 film, "Eavesdrop" which was produced by Chris Fetchko Productions. The second was as an actor and musician in the Marina Donahue directed, 2015 feature film, "All In Time". The film tells the story of Charlie, the manager of a struggling rock band, who tries to balance ambition and love, yet spirals into a romantic, financial, and emotional tailspin, culminating in a last ditch effort to put on the most unique rock concert of all time. The film was based on Fetchko's real-life experience managing the Rock Band, The Badlees, in which Ron Simasek is the real drummer (and also plays the movie drummer). In pre-production for the U.S./Irish Corner Bar Pictures episodic series, "For The Good of The Child".

Among Ron's other recognizable roles are appearances in the German TV series 'Der Puma" choreographed by Donnie Yen and his team, Akshay Kumar's "Brothers' (2016) , "The Avenging Fist" where he battles "Into the Badlands' Stephen Fung, "Crazy Alien', "Lost in Thailand" where his character has a memorable scene with a lady boy and gives Smoorenburg the chance to show a lighter side to his character than his regular bad guy roles, he can also be seen in Luc Besson's "Warriors Gate" and the Scott Adkins movie 'Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear" . Ron plays the character 'Dutch" and served as the fight choreographer for the independent movie 'English Dogs".
