Troy Curtis (born as Troy Tuminelli) is an East Coast-native actor, singer, and entrepreneur. At a young age Troy would sing at the dinner table with his family, sadly to be let down by his father, as he would tell him to "shut up." This empowered Troy to obtain a voice for himself and encouraged him to be heard. At this young age, Troy developed a passion for the world of performance art and music.Whether it is singing or acting, he was determined to take the world by storm with his creative aptitude. Known to be the first non-Spanish speaking member of the well known group, Menudo, during their MDO era, Troy was able to debut his singing and dancing abilities to the Hispanic community. MDO, a Puerto Rican pop rock band, following in the footsteps of Menudo, expanded their followers from Puerto Rico to all of Central America. Troy joined the MDO family in 2000, making their single Te Quise Olvidar a hit on the top of Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks, on MDO's Subir Al Cielo album released by Sony Music. With MDO, Troy has toured the world and sang in front of 500K screaming fans, and has shared the stage with musical legends such as Christina Aguilera, The Backstreet Boys, Cheyenne, and Celia Cruz. After leaving MDO in 2001, Troy was signed to play Nico Castaneda in the American soap opera Guiding Light. Troy was featured in 86 episodes over the year as a lead actor. He was responsible for writing, and singing all of the songs featured on the show during his time there. This allowed Troy to express his musical talents and to further develop himself as a performer. Following Troy's role on Guiding Light, he landed the lead role in the off Broadway production of Job in Job and the Snake. This biblical rock musical about the struggle between good and evil was the launching pad to incorporating spirituality in Troy's future work.In 2007, Troy began writing and producing music for himself. To date, Troy has 60 songs written, recorded and published. Troy has surrounded himself with a group of stellar coaches including acting coach Susan Basset (who coached Nicole Kidman, Jamie Foxx, Tom Cruz, etc.), vocal coach Donald Lawrence (who has worked with Bono, Lady Gaga, etc.), and vocal trainer William Riley (who has worked with Celine Dion, Faith Hill, etc.). He continues to work with these professionals on a daily basis.In 2000, Troy formed Premier Talent Entertainment - a full service entertainment planning company, producing creative and special events catering to all occasions. Troy provides his clients with world class entertainers including DJ's, live bands, MC's, motivational dancers, celebrity performers and specialty entertainment, and often jumps in as the MC or host to infuse the event and audience with his infectious energy. One of Troy's most current projects includes Kim Kardashian's Welcome to New York City Party, which took place in August of 2011. In 2012, Troy formed Troy Curtis Inc. as an umbrella company for acting, entertainment, and mind, body, and soul.Tapping into his spiritual well-being, Troy recently began to focus on what he loves to do most - Life Coaching, where he believes life is about helping people get to the next level. In this new endeavor he focuses on mind, body, and soul, and trains some of the most influential people of our time. Troy's new found relationship with his spiritually opened up a whole new realm of fulfillment in his life. One of Troy's most cherished projects includes Hip Hop Mediation, where he teaches children how to manage their energy, how to stay focused, and how to have better social skills.

In 2018 Troy Doherty can be seen starring in the fifth and final season of TNT's hit action-drama series "The Last Ship." Executive Produced by Michael Bay, the series follows the crew aboard the USS Nathan James, a lone, unaffected U.S. Navy Raleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer that is alone at sea after a viral global pandemic wipes out over 80% of the world's population. The crew must find a cure, stop the virus, and save humanity. Doherty joins the cast as Clayton Swain, a cadet in the U.S. Naval Academy who became somewhat of a renegade after his parents died from the plague. As Tom Chandler's (Eric Dane) protégé, Swain is scrappy, charming and strong-willed, making his way through the ranks on the ship. Season five of "The Last Ship" will debut on September 9, 2018. On the film front, Doherty can next be seen in the independent feature "The Odd Essay," a mythological action comedy that is a modern retelling of The Odyssey, set on a college campus. Additional film credits for Doherty include: "Hachi: A Dog's Tale" opposite Richard Gere and Joan Allen, "Hickey" for Gravitas Ventures, indie flick "September Morning," which follows five students in a college dorm the night of 9/11, and the short film "Legacy," working alongside renowned cinematographer Claudio Miranda ("Life of Pi"). In television, Doherty has appeared on "Mike & Molly," "New Girl," "Criminal Minds," "Welcome to the Family," and "Scorpion." Born in New Jersey and raised the tri-state area, Doherty's theatre career began at just 11 years old, appearing as Artful Dodger opposite Michelle DeJean and Neal Bernari in the production of Lionel Bart's musical "Oliver!" at the ripe age of 12. He went on to land roles in the pre-Broadway world premiere of "A Christmas Story, The Musical," "The Secret Garden," "13 The Musical," "The Wedding Singer," and most recently as Beethoven in "Dog Sees God: Confession of a Teenage Blockhead," performed at the Santa Monica Playhouse. When Doherty isn't on set or performing on stage, you can find him writing, producing, and recording music. His debut EP "Citizen's Arrest" is currently available on iTunes, and features a mix of blues and pop-rock tunes with a twist of country. Doherty showcases his talents in guitar and piano on the album, as well as his impressive vocal range. Troy Donahue was a journalism student at Columbia University when he began playing in stock productions. He made his film debut in Man Afraid (1957) and in 1959 signed as a contract player with Warner Bros., which promoted him to stardom with A Summer Place (1959) that year. He was soon a teenage heartthrob, his blond hair and blue eyes appearing frequently on the covers of movie magazines. His most successful film was Parrish (1961), in which he played the title character. A few years after that his career went into a decline; he made only a few television movies between the mid-'60s and his small role in The Godfather Part II (1974) (in which his character's name, Merle Johnson, was actually his real name). His later films were almost entirely for the low-budget home video market, e.g., Sexpot (1990) and Nudity Required (1990).
