Tanya Abrol was born on January 8, 1986 in Abohar, Punjab, India. She is an actress, known for Chak De! India (2007), Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021) and Love Yoou Soniye (2013).
Originally from St. Louis, MO, Tanya was an overachiever at an early age. A high school valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa graduate from St. Louis University's theatre program, Tanya also received a two-year certification in Musical Theatre at AMDA-New York. In the 90's, Tanya appeared in dozens of musicals and stage plays, booking her first national tour in 'The Wiz' (1997) with entertainment great, Grace Jones. She would then work Off-Broadway in 'In Dahomey' (1999) at Woody King's New Federal Theatre and claim a role on the ever-popular 'Law & Order: SVU' (2000). Her 2001 move to Los Angeles would bring television and movie roles on 'The Shield', 'Half n Half', 'Lucky Louie, 'Material Girls', Amazon Prime's 'Bliss' and her first major voice over role as 'Jocelyn Reyes' in 'Tombraider' (2013). A score of film, web, commercial, motion capture, and voice over projects ensued including Sesame Street & Headspace's 'Goodnight, World', radio spots for WeWork, Indeed, and Amazon, more stage productions at The Fountain Theatre and Mark Taper Forum, and countless other credits including award wins like Best Music Video at the Hollywood Black Film Festival (2009) and Best Supporting Actress at the Santa Monica Film Festival ('Beyond Doubt' 2016). With a distinct alto voice, unique look and strong presence, she will continue to make an indelible mark in acting and entertainment.
Tanya Allen was born in Toronto in 1975. She developed a love of acting young and at fifteen attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She launched her professional acting career in her late teens, and spent several years guest-starring on such series as "the Outer Limits" and "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues" before landing leading roles roles in several TV movies. She received Gemini Award nominations (the Canadian equivalent of the Emmys) for playing both period heroine Del Jordan in the adaptation of Alice Monroe's Lives of Girls & Women (1996) and punky rock singer Astrid Kirsh in Bruce Macdonald's Platinum (1997). Her career then headed to England when she landed the title role in the CBC/BBC historical drama Lyddie (1996), followed by a lead in the CBC comedy "Newsroom, The" (1996). Her critically acclaimed performance as the rebelliously intelligent intern Audrey in the hit series won her a Gemini Award. Later that year, she traveled to Scotland to film the British-Canadian First World War drama Regeneration (1997). Over the next five years, Tanya lived in New York and acted almost exclusively in independent films such as Clutch with Tom Green, Wish You Were Dead ( playing Mary Steenburgen's coked-up daughter) and Fancy Dancing with Dave Foley and Jason Priestly. She jumped back into television for the British-Canadian science fiction series"Starhunter" (2001)_ .
