Vincent Willestrand was born Kimi Vilkkula on January 24, 1988 in Helsinki, Finland. He spent his early years in Russia, Finland and the U.S before moving to London, England in his twenties. He trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in London and with the award-winning Polish theatre company, Song of the Goat. He played Hamlet in an adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy directed by Grzegorz Bral; after its London run the production was invited to the Gdansk Shakespeare Festival in Poland. Willestrand made his silver screen debut to a wider audience in 2017 in the war drama, Unknown Soldier, by Aku Louhimies.
