She is best known for her portrayal of Colonel Joan Burton for 117 episodes on Lifetime Television's popular drama, "Army Wives." She was nominated for several awards for her work on the show. Wendy Dynan-Gleeson
Born and bred in Cork, Wendy spent many years performing at the Cork Opera House, The Everyman Theatre, The Granary and The Cork Cat Club (where she received a nomination for best newcomer early in her career). After having gained credits in Ireland and England for Theatre and shorts such as Dallus, in which she played 'Sweetie', she continued on to do a considerable amount of work in New Zealand where she toured different theatre productions. Wendy worked with Every Day Theatre Company performing the very challenging 'Family in Crisis' in prisons. Just before leaving New Zealand she took on the lead role of 'Natasha' in A shortcut to Happiness by acclaimed writer Roger Hall. Wendy trained at Drama Studio London where she graduated with Honours. Previous to this, she attained an Honours Degree in Theatre and Media Drama with Psychology from the University of South Wales after having already earned a Performing Arts Diploma with Distinction from Stiofain Naofa. She is also a Licentiate of Speech and Drama from Trinity College London. Recent credits include feature films My Sailor My Love (2022), 'God's Creatures' (2021) and 'Sparrow' (2021).

Recently, Wendy has directed a holiday feature film shot in The Highlands of Scotland titled, "Saving Christmas Spirit", she has wrapped a single camera comedy pitch presentation that she both directed and created with two wonderful writers titled "Lake Tuna", and she is contracted to direct a massive feature film based on female pilots during WWII. Wendy is thrilled to be playing a major role in changing the percentage of women directors in Hollywood, and she succeeds with every opportunity given to her.
