Wil Gonzalez was born in Newark, NJ in 1959 and grew up in the South Bronx. He has three sisters and was born to Ana C. Chaparro and Alfredo Gonzalez from Rincon, Puerto Rico. Growing up he was always involved in music, drama and sports. Having a passion for the arts at a young age, in the mid 1970's, he played percussion in several salsa bands and participated in numerous drama plays in High School. As a teenager, he was fortunate to accompany Mr. Tito Puente "The King of Timbales" In 1982, after completing his years in the military and graduating from the University of Hawaii, he moved to Atlanta, GA and became very engaged in his acting career and filmed a few national commercials. He successfully completed over 30 years in the corporate world working for fortune 500 companies and has returned to his true passion of acting and directing. He has worked on "Bad Boys for Life" (Film), Ant-Man and the Wasp" (Film), Devious Maids" (TV Series), "Sleepy Hollow" (TV Series), "24: Legacy" (TV Series), "Logan Lucky" (Film), Greenleaf (TV Series),"Expulsion" and "Heaven's Response" (Film - Actor and Director).

In 2004, Johnson played the title character in the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company's Othello. He also played Marcus Kirby in the BBC Drama Waterloo Road. He departed in the second half of Series. Wil wrote, directed and executive produced the film titled Switch (2016) that has been a most popular drama on streaming platforms for an extended period of time and in 2018 Wil directed and executive produced the comedy film Dagram. Currently, Wil is in production for his latest written and directed films The Bag Girls set to be released in 2020 and The Life - Sex, Drugs & Violence part III (The Final Chapter ) with a 2020 release date also.
