Courtney Shaw
Courtney Shaw is a classically trained actress, singer, and voice actor. She was born and raised in the city of New Britain, Connecticut and began acting in professional regional theatre in Connecticut as a child. After 4 years of theatre study at the prominent magnet arts high school The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, she moved to New York City to further her studies at Circle in the Square Theatre School as an acting major and musical theatre minor.
She is a member of Animus Theatre Company, along with film actors Matthew Lillard, Pamela Adlon, Paul Schneider, and Tony and Oscar nominated playwright / screenwriter Beth Henley. Through Animus she helped produce several play reading series at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre, where she acted opposite Alexis Bledel under the direction of film and television director / screenwriter / producer Leslye Headland in Headland's play The Accidental Blonde. Courtney later starred in the New York premiere of Leslye Headland's one-woman show Surfer Girl. Courtney has performed in plays and musicals at prominent Off-Broadway theatres throughout New York.
She is best known for voicing the roles of Gretel in the Netflix film "Secret magic Control Agency," Charlotte in the Adult Swim / Crunchy Roll anime "Fena: Pirate Princess," and Whirl in the Discovery Family / Netflix series "Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy." As a voice actor she has also starred in series for networks such as Nickelodeon, Disney Jr., Funimation, Amazon Prime, YouTube Tv, and Sprout, and she continues to work in animation, audiobooks, video games, and commercials.
Courtney plays Flip in the acclaimed children's musical podcast "Flip and Mozi's Guide to How to Be an Earthling"- a scripted series by Tinkercast focusing on animal conservation with original songs by Grammy nominated children's composers The Popups.
