Ira Rosensweig
Ira Rosensweig is an award-winning director known for his unique comic sensibility and deft touch with celebrity talent. His Super Monday campaign for FOX, promoting an unofficial national holiday by encouraging viewers to take off from work the day after the Super Bowl, ran throughout the NFL Playoffs and culminated in a 60-second spot during Super Bowl LIV.
The Discover Your Air Network, a 15-spot, retro-themed campaign that he directed for Nike and Foot Locker, was recently shortlisted for a Clio award and recognized by AdAge: Creativity as an Editor's Pick. Rosensweig also recently directed Joel McHale and Jay Pharoah in a technically innovative Super Bowl LIII digital campaign for Pepsi, and Chrissy Teigen and LL Cool J in Lip Sync Battle: It Takes Two, which won five Promax Awards.
Vacation Quarterback, a commercial starring Peyton Manning that Rosensweig directed and edited for Universal Parks & Resorts, aired during Super Bowl LII. He won Clios for Neighbors 3: Zombies Rising, a mashup of the Neighbors and Walking Dead franchises starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, and again for One Night Only, featuring Alec Baldwin playing George Washington as Donald Trump.
Aside from those already mentioned, Rosensweig has directed stars such as Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Jack Black, and Blake Shelton, among many more. He has directed commercials for brands including Pepsi, Nike, Walmart, Toyota, AT&T, Geico, Absolut Vodka, Kia, Gillette, Honda, NBA, Ford, Taco Bell, and Nissan, and promos for networks including ABC, NBC, FOX, AMC, ESPN, TNT, Bravo, History Channel, TruTV, Paramount Network, and Nickelodeon.
Rosensweig is also one of few experts in the interactive space. He recently helmed Eko's KidHQ & The Walmart Toy Lab, a choose-your-own-adventure, virtual toy store, where kids can play with the hottest new toys and then instantly buy them from Walmart's website. He not only directed all five hours of video content, including hundreds of effects shots created by Digital Domain, but also oversaw a huge creative team managing all elements of design, interactivity, and post-production.
He is active in the film and TV space as well, and recently directed three episodes of the second season of Go90's Mr. Student Body President, winner of multiple Streamy Awards. He produced, directed, and edited Mystery Now, starring John Lithgow, which serves as a prequel series to NBC's Trial & Error. Think Tank, a show Rosensweig co-created and directed, as well as executive produced with Chris Moore (Manchester By The Sea, Project Greenlight), became A&E's first digital series. He has also been commissioned to write screenplays for the Farrelly Brothers and MGM, and has many film projects in development.
Rosensweig is also a co-inventor of Crew in a Box, the world's first professional-quality, plug-and-play, remote production solution, and the recent recipient of the 2020 IABM BaM Create Award, voted the best technological innovation of 2020 in broadcast acquisition. On-camera talent simply opens the box and plugs it in, and Crew in a Box automatically connects over the Internet, without the need of a home WiFi network, to a remote team of filmmakers who control every aspect of the shoot, including the integrated 6k cinema camera, powerful LED light, microphones, and teleprompter/Interrotron. The system also allows crew, agency and clients to join a video conference where they can view the direct feed from the camera and communicate as if they were on set.
Ira Rosensweig is represented for film and television by ICM.
