Summer H. Howell
Summer began her acting career at the age of 8 when she was cast as Alice in the horror film Curse of Chucky (2013) directed by Don Mancini. For this leading role, Summer was able to work closely with Fiona Dourif, Danielle Bisutti and Brennan Elliott and was nominated and won her first Joey acting award for her performance. Shortly after that film, she was cast to play Nascien in the Action, Sci-Fi thriller Garm Wars: The Last Druid (2014) directed by Mamoru Oshii which featured Lance Henriksen and Kevin Durand.
Summer made her television debut in the City TV comedy Sunnyside (2015) and appeared in the SyFy Channel Season 2 of Channel Zero (2016) as Margot; age 11. In her latest horror film role, Summer plays young Anna in The Midnight Man (2016) directed by Travis Zariwny starring Lin Shaye and Robert England, where she again won awards for her performance. She was also invited to reprise her beloved role of Alice in a guest appearance in "Cult of Chucky" and currently awaits her fate, as only Chucky knows what's happened to Alice.
In fall 2019, Summer was cast as Renee, a lead in horror thriller, "Hunter, Hunter" directed by Shawn Linden. Shot in rural parts of her home province, she was thrilled to work with Nick Stahl and opposite fellow Canadian actors Camille Sullivan and Devon Sawa. While on set, she continued to audition for other roles and when that project was on its last week, she was offered a role in a movie filming in Montreal the following week.
Summer joined "Clouds", a real-life drama directed by Justin Baldoni, where she plays Grace, the sister of main character Zach, starring Fin Argus. Working with a talented cast including Sabrina Carpenter, Madison Iseman, Tom Everett Scott and Neve Campbell, Summer was so honored to be part of this journey and to help tell Zach's story. The film was recently released on Disney+ in October 2020.
When she is not acting, Summer enjoys being creative and spending time with family, friends and her two dogs.
